A Trust Fund is being established in memory of Chad Baker. The purpose of this trust is to form a FFA scholarship. Anyone interested in donating can call the Ag Building: (580) 534-2214, or Linda Baker: (580) 928-2876.

The late Chad Baker was an active member of the Sweetwater FFA Chapter.

Chad Baker was born May 24, 1979 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Linda Kay and Charles Ervin Baker and passed away December 5, 1998 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center of Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 19 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Chad attended school at Sweetwater and was active in FFA, where he held the office of Sentinel for two years and had received the Chapter Star Farmer Award and State Farmer Degree. Chad also served as Student Council Representative for several years. After graduating from Sweetwater High School in 1998, he worked for a short time for Gene's Fin and Feather in Elk City, but mainly helped his father run the family dairy farm. Chad enjoyed several hobbies, but his main interest was fishing.

Chad was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He was baptized April 28, 1991.
